Tesla Model S P85D in Cold Weather
Tesla's Dual Motor Model S is a categorical improvement on conventional all-wheel drive systems.
Conventional all-wheel drive cars employ complex mechanical linkages to distribute power from a single engine to all four wheels. This sacrifices efficiency in favor of all weather traction. In contrast, each Model S motor is lighter, smaller and more efficient than its rear wheel drive counterpart, providing both improved range and faster acceleration.

Tesla App to melt snow and ice by preheating the cabin
Demonstration of using the Tesla app to melt snow and ice by preheating the cabin. I preheated for longer than I should have, and I could have probably gotten away with 10 minutes only. By doing 30 minutes, I wanted to show the amount of battery consumption/range useage.
To those who noticed the German plates: my previous vehicles were a Mercedes C300 and ML350 which this lone Tesla replaced. I had the plate so I figured I put it on! I got them from Germanplates.com . I know Tesla is an American make but I get to pick what I put on front of my car as I live in Alberta and you could put whatever you want on front. I chose to put my personalized plate on it. :-D Haters gonna hate, but I won't criticize anyone for their choices. Thanks for watching!
Tesla Motors: SNOW Much FUN! 4wd 90D 4wd Traction Control
Tesla Motors: Snow Much Fun! 4wd 90D 4wd Traction Control
Previously (Dec 8th, 2013 ) I tested my old Single Motor RWD MS60 on a slick parking lot, seeing what the Traction Control would do. It was fun! With Traction Control on, it was fairly solid, with it off, I was all over the place!
Fast Forward 3 years 4 days, and I am now testing my 4wd 90D Model S in similar slickness in a parking lot. All I can say is, WOW. My old RWD Model S did as good as my 4x4 truck, my 4wd 90D...... If I had snow tires instead of All Seasons, this thing would be almost unstoppable! Though with Traction control off (Slip Start Enabled), Drifting my Tesla Model S 90D was FUN!
